📱 Getting Started

Import Files

Tap the + button on the home screen
Select "Import File"
Choose a Markdown file from your device
The file will open automatically in the reader

Create from Text

Tap the + button on the home screen
Select "Input Text"
Type or paste your Markdown content
Tap "Next" and enter a filename
Tap "Save & Read" to view your document

Change Reading Theme

Open any document in the reader
Tap the palette icon (🎨) in the top right
Choose from 6 beautiful themes
Your selection is saved automatically

What file formats are supported?

Markdown Reader supports .md, .markdown, and .txt files containing Markdown formatting.

How do I delete files?

On the home screen, swipe left on any file and tap the red "Delete" button. You'll be asked to confirm before deletion.

Where are my files stored?

All files are stored locally on your device in the app's secure storage. They are not uploaded to any cloud service or server.

How many files can I store?

The app stores your 300 most recently accessed files. Older files are automatically removed from the history, but the actual file remains on your device.

Can I edit Markdown files?

Currently, Markdown Reader is focused on providing the best reading experience. Editing features may be added in future updates.

Does the app work offline?

Yes! Markdown Reader works completely offline. Once installed, you don't need an internet connection to use any features.

How do I sync files between devices?

Currently, the app stores files locally only. We recommend using iCloud Drive or another cloud service to keep your Markdown files synced, then importing them into the app on each device.

Is my data private?

Absolutely! We don't collect any data. Everything stays on your device. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.

Sepia: Warm, vintage paper-like appearance
Eye Care: Soothing green theme to reduce eye strain
Ocean: Cool blue tones for a calm reading experience
Purple Dream: Elegant purple hues for a unique look

💡 Tips & Tricks

Your theme preference is saved and applies to all documents
Files are automatically sorted by last read time
Pull down on the home screen to refresh the file list
The app supports all standard Markdown syntax including tables, code blocks, and lists
Scroll to the bottom of the home screen to load more files from your history
